As fighting with cats on a roleplay site with posts can get confusing (waiting for the other user to post when other fights are going on in between) and really close to power-playing, here are some tips and rules you should follow.

1. When you engage a cat in combat, you and the other cat's user should confirm in an ooc: which one of the two (if more than one cat, basically the side) will win the fight.* Both users need to agree.
2. No dealing deadly/unrecoverable wounds, unless that cat was supposed to die.
3. Realisticness. If a cat is struck down, then you can't say, oh, "but then _____ gets back up and strikes down his attacker."
4. Be sure to separate or differentiate all the different fights. Like:
Petalfall clawed Gorsefang.

Badgerstripe attacked Talonstar.
5. Be clear to who your cat(s) is fighting with. Use full names and don't confuse pronouns.
6. Give time for the other user to react. Wait; go move by move.

A personal battle usually ends when one side/cat can fight no longer. The defeated cat collapses or runs away depending on the seriousness of the wounds.
Also, if a victorious cat joins another fight, he/she still has the wounds from all previous fights.

*Only in a drawn out and personal fight with another cat; aka one that has a target. If an attacker simply runs by slashing with his claws, for example, with no specific target, then there is no need for this.
