Moderator Tests?

Post by Oceanstorm on Mon May 14, 2012 7:02 pm

Okay, so should we have User Tests?
EX. I am a Member and I want to be a Moderator in Training. There is a test, and if I fill out all of the requirements for the test, I become a Moderator in Training.

From there, there are other tests for becoming a Moderator, Global Moderator, and Administator (Maybe...)

So what do you think? What should we do?

Like, the Member Test would be:
Post!

And all you need to do is just join and post something and boom, your a member.

For the Moderator Test or something like that it could be:
Get 1 person to join Awesomeclan

And other things, like that Wink Smile

oh. I see. Okay, I vote yes (as you will see)

the moderator should be some trust stuff too, but we'll figure out the details later, right? ! This should be the part of the Roleplay librarian guild or something!

Um....I don't think so Smile

If you are already in the position, then, no, I guess...

BUT if you want to move up then you have to take the test.
EX. Runa is a moderator. She wants to become a Global Moderator, so in order to become one, she would need to take the Global Moderator Test. If she does all of things the tests tells her to do, then BOOM! She is now a Global Moderator

...
Dx I think I'm the only one not fully supporting this thingy. Imma so sorry. ;n;
I have my reasons, though, because it's just a bit too easy, just getting to a number of posts. If all the requirements are like this, then you could just became a admin like that, *snaps fingers* and you could just totally destroy this site.

Also, if we do go with this, maybe there should be a time that you are on this site too, like a year for moderator, because that's how long everyone on here waited for.
And, you won't become a moderator if you ask to become one?

No, I think the main reason I'm like this is because on all the sites I've been on, becoming a moderator is hard. I'm really sorry. ;n;

Oh, one last question. If everyone is moderators, what/who are we "modding?"

DDx, no just ignore me, please. I'm... Weird.

Well, I think they have to be on this website for a while too. We have all been waiting for it. It's kind of... Weird to be caught up by new users. And I don't think they could be many Admins either. The position of Admin won't be special.

Re: Moderator Tests?

Post by Oceanstorm on Thu May 17, 2012 11:53 am

Like things they need do...like one requirement could be join 3 guilds or help out on a guild project or get like 1 person to join Awesomeclan...something like that... \
Smile

I understand Jay, and yeah there are like no normal members...but how about we could also add like a time thing to the test? Like you have to be on the website/Awesomeclan for like 1 year or something to become a certain rank...and I don't think we really should have an Administrator Test since if everyone became Administrators....well then that would be weird/bad.

But there would be the other tests...maybe you could help me brainstorm, Jay to make sure they are not too easy?
Okay! First one!

Member Test
This is the test you take in order to become a member!
Requirements:
Posted on Awesomeclan

I think that the member test should be the easiest Razz
Is that good? I think it kinda will be so, second one!

Moderator in Training Test
This is the test you take in order to become a moderator in training!
Requirements:
Active on Awesomeclan for 3 months
Joined 1 guild
Has 2 cats in the roleplay

I don't know, I think this one is okay. Kinda hardish...yeah Wink

Hmmm...I like your idea, but how technical is it? For example, I fullfill ALL the things on the test. I am in several guilds and I made ten characters. Oh, and I have been on for a year. Though technically, I have not been very active in the RP recently, though I plan to go back on.

Re: Moderator Tests?

Well, for the activeness you have to a be an active member for that long, I guess. Like rp or stuff.
Hm...maybe I should put someone in charge of all of the tests....

Jay, would you like to be the Official Test ______?
I really couldn't think of a name, sorry! But basically the people would pm you telling you that they did all of the requirements to BlahBlahBlah test and then you make sure and check it all of and then you tell me and then I move them up to that rank.

Oh, and you can only do one rank test above you. Like if you are a member you can't do the global moderator test and zoom all the way up there. You have to take it a step at time. That way people wouldnt zoom all the way up there, and will also learn about their powers and rights and get experience as whatever ranks they are before that.

Wink

Eagle, we need to work on these Moderator Tests! So far we have the Memeber Test done and the MIT Test done. Oh and, Jay, is it okay(lol) if you are the Test Keeper? Like you are in charge of all the tests and when people complete a test they send it to you and you check it over to make sure they did everything correct?
If Jay doesn't want it, who else would like to have it?

Oh and for Active on Awesomeclan for 3 months, you have to be active that long, right everyone?

Here are the tests we have done so far:

Member Test
This is the test you take in order to become a member!
Requirements:
Posted on Awesomeclan

Moderator in Training Test
This is the test you take in order to become a moderator in training!
Requirements:
Active on Awesomeclan for 3 months
Joined 1 guild
Has 2 cats in the roleplay

Its time now to work on the Moderator Test! Who wants to make that test?

okay, but do you have to ask to be a MIT or you automatically become one, like member tests?

uh, Moderator test ideas:
Active on Awesomecl4n for sixth months
Joined three guilds and are relatively active on them
Has four cats in roleplay
Asks to be a Moderator

hmm...I feel like we should have a four requirement though

Well first you tell the Test Keeper, Jay, that you are going to take that test. Then after you fufill the requirements you tell the Test Keeper and then she checks over and okays it. After that, the Test Keeper tells an Admin who makes that person apart of that group Smile

How about this?

Moderator Test
This is the test you take in order to become a moderator!
Requirements:
Active on Awesomeclan for 6 months
Joined 2 guilds
Has 4 cats in the roleplay
Has 500 posts (?)
Has approved an audition (?)
Has made 5 useful edits (?)

What do you think? I didn't really know what else to add...

Wow that was fast. ^^"

Ack, so cold in here.

.... Either way, I agree. It'll be a bit hard to go roaming around for 3 edits, so Ocean, could you make a forum or something only visible to Moderators and above where we can keep a record of every user moving up in rank?
(Lol, that sounded a bit weird.)

Hmm...I don't think I can do that (for the topic. Like only higher up people can access it, is what I meant.)

Why don't you just have a normal topic? If you REALLY want to, then I guess I could try and find a way to do that...but no promises :S

Okay! I changed it to 1 useful edit....maybe I should change it though to getting 1 person actively join Awesomeclan? Would that be better, do you think? We could get rid of the posts and edits and audition requirements then Smile

Hmm....
It's fine, I'll just grab a note pad or something.

Well... Getting one person to actively join awesomeclan, that might be a bit hard because not a lot of people we know read warriors, but that may be different for others.
So I don't know.

Re: Moderator Tests?

Post by Oceanstorm on Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:23 pm

But isn't 1 person joining a hard thing, good? That way it would curb the numbers of moderators and global moderators, so that there are not so many of them. We do not want to have a large goverment and a small peasantry, you know what I mean?
Laughing

Okay, so I think that this is the final Moderator Test! Very Happy

Moderator Test
This is the test you take in order to become a moderator!
Requirements:
Active on Awesomeclan for 6 months
Joined 2 guilds
Has 4 cats in the roleplay
Has made 1 person actively join Awesomeclan

Good? Either or, this is the final test, Global Moderator. We shouldn't make an Admin Test....yet. Also has noticed I changed the names of the ranks to match with that of the warrior ranks. So maybe when we are done with this, we should change the names of the tests to match the apprioate ranks Wink

Global Moderator Test
This is the test you take to become a global moderator!
Requirments:
Active on Awesomeclan for 1 year
Joined 3 guilds
Has 8 cats in roleplay
Has made 2 people actively join Awesomeclan
Has 1000 posts

I think that is it. It is a LOT harder than the past tests, and that is kind of what we want. Should we make an Admin Test, though? If so, this is what I think it should be.

Administrator Test
This is the test you take to become an administrator!
Requirements:
Active on Awesomeclan for 2 years
Joined 3 guilds and is active in a Guild Project
Has 12 cats in the roleplay
Has made 3 people actively join Awesomeclan
Has 2000 posts
Has approved an audition
Has made 1 useful edit

This one is even harder than the last one, but if you try really hard you can fufill the things on the list.
So what do you guys think?

I don't think there should be an admin group, as it is technically a closed group and also admins have the power ("With great power comes great responsibility") to destroy the website. If we were to have a new admin, I don't think he/she would be picked based on a physical test, but more on trust and activeness and stuff. On the other hand, the Admin test is pretty difficult.

Ok, so the all the tests are basically done now, right?

Hmm...how about if we think someone is ready to be an admin we could make them take the test and if they pass, they get it. That way it is not like some random person who we don't think is good enough to be an admin, doing the test and getting. Instead we would select canditates to take the test when we want more admins.

^-^ That is what I think we should do.

Okay, I guess they are, unless some person bursts in with a torch and a pitchfork and demands to hold the fort until the sun rain. Very Happy

.....basically, any strong and immediate objections.

Yeah, okay, because I didn't want this to happen: A user wants to be an Admin. He/she fills all the requirements and says, "Okay, I can be an Admin now." But...(hopefully this won't happen) for some reason, we don't think this person is quite fit to be an Admin. Like, what would we do, refuse them? So i like your alternative.

Should these be posted in a topic?

Yeah, I hope that doesn't happen and that everyone thinks that the requirements are fair and not too hard. I mean, they are all do able and everything, it is just that same require more work than others...lol.

Yeah, we could tell them that is our plan for new admins. Like if we want a person to be an admin we tell them, give them the test and should they succeed, then they are an admin! Very Happy

Do you want to do that? Or should I? Make sure you have the same format for the tests as I did and put our Admin idea after th Global Moderator idea. Maybe you should also post the Admin test there as well.
